INDIANAPOLIS – In honor of Reggie Miller’s last regular season home game with the Indiana Pacers, the City of Indianapolis will honor Miller by renaming Pennsylvania St., from Maryland St. to Georgia St. alongside Conseco Fieldhouse, as “Reggie Miller Court,” Mayor Bart Peterson said today.

The city has installed temporary signs along Pennsylvania, renaming it “Reggie Miller Court.” The signs will remain up throughout the NBA playoffs.

Miller is set to retire at the end of this season after 17 seasons as an Indiana Pacer.

“On the court, Reggie has been one of the great basketball players of all time, not just in Indiana, but in the world,” Mayor Peterson said. “Off the court, he’s the epitome of the type of professional athlete every city wishes they had on their team.

“Reggie is a tremendous asset to the Indianapolis community whose commitment extends far beyond the basketball court. From his charity work to being an ambassador for Indianapolis, Reggie has left an indelible mark on our city.

“No matter what happens in the future, Reggie will always be Indianapolis’ own, and he will be welcome in our city anytime, anywhere.”

Wonder if they'll officially change it after the retirement ceremony next year.

Wonder if they'll officially change it after the retirement ceremony next year.

They might, but will people get honked off when they change it to "Boilermaker Way" during the Women's Big 10 Tournament?

Make it permanent on Jersey Retirement Night next season. I plead you.
