1999. The Knicks were the 8th seed and they beat the pacers in the ECF

Yes, that was the "Knick" Bavetta game, but UB wouldn't know anything about that...

And Houston doesn't play in the NBA any more. He's an injured list mainstay on the Knicks roster getting paid well over $10 mil to be on the injured list. But officially, I guess you would have to say he still "plays" in the NBA.

I still think that's got to be the worst contract ever. Injuries aside, no one was going to pay Allan half that money, there was absolutely no reason for NY to give him a max deal.

Houston was a pretty good player for a few season there.

Not 20mil/year good.

IIRC, he complained about not having a no-trade clause.

Its only been the last two years that he's really been hurt and he has had some 20+ pts/game seasons. Sure he is overpayed but he's paid about the right amount for being on the Knicks.

Man, I remember when we drafted him, I was like 12. 3 years later he left for New York ... he was probably the first player I was ever bitter about.

Believe it or not, Allan Houston averaged 23 points a game just 2 years ago in 2002-2003.

Houston dropped 50 on Kobe and Shaq that same year.

Poster child of the "2nd bananas aren't worth the max" club.
