The only problem with after the finals, or more spefically after the draft is this place is not nearly as busy, unless there is some hot and heavy free agent action or some Artest trade rumors.

I suggest we do it a week or so after the pacers are eliminated.

Good point. I guess it depends on whether you want a true vote, or want a bit less boredom for those that hang here in the offseason .

Exactly why I'm thinking May. Unless we're swept. :uhoh:

But yes, I want to do it before half of PD leaves for the summer.

I've been trying to find a good place to ask this, and a random OT thread seems as good a place as any:

Hicks, where's your avatar from?

It's from a Pacers/NBATV commercial that I saw on pacers.com a while back. I'd long had it and wanted to make an avatar out of it, but I just recently found a prog that could convert .rm video to .avi (avi I can easily make into an animated .gif like my avatar). What's great about that vid isn't even shown here; it's Ron helping an old lady across the street. They even got Ronnie to voice it. So you see him walk up to the lady and ask "May I help you cross the stream, ma'am?". Funny.

I wondered that myself.

And while we're on the topic of avatars... did yours always talk? I thought it was a static image until today...

Update: Just made this, which is too big for an avatar but still fun to show:

I might use this one as an avatar:

I remember that even the cartoon made Ron look like a nut, he started dribbling the lady and then threw her across the street lol

I still think we should do this while it is stil lbusy, during the playoffs, if we get kicekd out early they will run on after anyway adn it might enitce people to come back more often, if not then the attendance wll likely drop and only a few poeple vote, would be nice to have a few hundred people voting :)

If I don't give you a serious run for "most pessimistic" this year then we'll know its rigged. :D

Indeed. Yours is a rational, well thought-out pessimissm, rather than frustrated outbursts of emotion, and will be a worthy foe. I may have to double my efforts to cement my position this year.

Of course, the real question is whether or not you can keep it up for seasons to come. Shade gave me a good run last season, but has been sorely lacking in the negativity department this year.

What are the awards? There doesn't seem to be one I'd even fit into. I'm not an extreme-anything, besides extremely indistinct.

Maybe I'll break out the nunchucks and sugar cubes and make a run at one of them.

I'm sure you'll at least be nominated for Forum Rookie of the Year.

Let's see, other categories include MVP, Most Humerous, Most Argumentative, Poster you love to hate, Most Pessimistic, Arm-chair Coach, there's a couple more...

Kstat

SIG is definately getting my vote for Rookie of the Year.

....so says the 2003 ROY ;)

BTW, is there any doubt whatsoever I'm going to win my 2nd straight "poster you love to hate?" All the other candiates have been banned already......

The 2004 RoY is also giving Los Angeles some serious consideration - that might be one of the best races of the summer. I've probably already decided how I'm voting for everything else, and no, Kstat, I probably still won't vote for you for "poster you love to hate."

However, between you and I... I really think 'you-know-who' should be reinstated for just long enough to only vote for one of us. :D

Poster You Love To Hate----- I'm not going to vote for KStat in this award because I don't dislike him.

ReggieMiller2645 (I think?), though, is going to make a run at that title (as someone else pointed out). His Fred-hating really grates on the nerves. However, he has a certainly quality that still makes him pretty likable. Definition of the award IMO.

Maybe he came in too late though? Is that a factor? I can't think of anyone else that'd fit in this award.

As for the other thing, I'd get crushed in any sort of award invloving Los Angeles. He knows what he talks about, and I like his style. (Especially the DH avatar.)

Aren't the majority of us Foreigners, considering this is based in.... well.... I don't know, but it's way over there.

I will place my question mark here, because I lost it somewhere in that mock-sentence. It's too late, methinks.

Let's split it into best out of (Indiana) state and best foreigner. There was some unclearity (sp?) amongst some of us "real" foreignaaz last year concerning this ;).
