Nelson Hands Over Mavs
Don Nelson resigned as Mavericks coach "for family and other reasons" Saturday, ESPN.com's Marc Stein reports. Nelson will be replaced by Avery Johnson with immediate effect.

Kind of surprising, but you could have seen it coming

Not surprising at all. He was only coaching every other game anyway.

Doesn't surprise me. He already was handing his job over to Avery Johnson anyway.

Should be fun to watch Avery run the team

He is still the GM and that is the job he really wanted anyway.

Auf wiedersein, Don. :chuckle:

I didn't like Nelson anyway.

I didn't like Nelson anyway.

I couldn't stand him when he was on Milwaukee. That smug SOB did less with so much talent........

Don Nelson is an awful playoff coach. Always will be. He's had more talent at his disposal than any coach in NBA HISTORY not named jackson or Auerbach, and he's never even made the finals.

Either Nelson or his wife probably have some serious health issues. Not a time where I want to run my mouth about a team I hope gets its asp kicked.

HE's the MFSoB that started the whining abot the P's a couple years back. I have ZERO use for him and hope him nothing but bad luck (except when it comes to life threatening issues of course).
