View Full Version : Theoretical NCAA betting

Several years ago I noticed something about the NCAA tournament. So I tracked it. Back then, if you had bet $25.00 per game, and taken every underdog in the first two rounds - then switched to every favorite the rest of the way - you would have won a lot of money.

Just for fun, I think I will publicly track it again this year. Keep in mind - it's a straight $25.00 bet (forget the bookie's juice).

I'll post what I find out after each round.

First round underdogs did not fare as well this year. Last time they were 23-8-1 for a + $375.00.

Third day/Second round:

Underdogs went 4-4 vs the spread for + $0.00
Overall 23-15-2 for + $200.00

Yeah, theoretically, I often pair or group underdogs together in the first round and tease the lines even higher. Did well again this year with that. Amazing how hard it is to cover 15 points when they are fouling and hitting threes at the end of a game.
